Porsche unveiled the 911 R at Geneva in March 2016 and built 991, naming it after the lightweight 911 R of 1967. It pairs the 4.0-litre naturally aspirated flat-six of the GT3 RS — 500 PS and an 8,500 rpm limit — with a six-speed manual gearbox, a mechanical limited-slip differential and rear-axle steering, without a fixed rear wing. The single-mass flywheel fitted here is lighter than the standard dual-mass unit and quicker to rev. A carbon-fibre bonnet and front wings, a magnesium roof and lightweight rear glazing bring it to 1,370 kg, and Porsche Ceramic Composite Brakes are standard. This car wears the launch specification: white with red stripes over the bonnet, roof and tail, red 911 R graphics along the sills, black centre-lock wheels, and a black cabin with Pepita houndstooth bucket seats, the GT steering wheel, a short-throw shifter and 911 R sill plates. No departure from factory specification is recorded. Disclosed: no service records are held at present.\u003c\/p\u003e","brand":"Porsche","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":68049494147221,"sku":null,"price":795000.0,"currency_code":"USD","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0771\/5579\/5093\/files\/IMG_3259.heic?v=1792791610","url":"https:\/\/motoringarchives.com\/products\/2016-porsche-911-r","provider":"Motoring Archives","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
